Polyglycerols are a class of multifunctional polymers obtained from the polymerization glycidol and its derivatives. Unlike poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), which is most common polyether, polyglycerols can exhibit many functionalities on their side chains be renewable resources, mainly glycerol. Hereby, this study will focus glycidyl carbamates, new monomers readily available glycerol carbonate, combines chemical both urethane. The these ethers directly leads to linear poly(glycidyl carbamates), thus avoiding several protection deprotection steps or polymers. This hence gives first approach carbamate polymerization. Commonly used initiators in anionic ring-opening (alkali metal alkoxides) lead ill-defined compounds after full conversion monomers, whereas pyridine derivative oligomers whose structures could thoroughly described. results suggest that low basicity high nucleophilicity suitable conditions polymerize carbamates because sensitivity urethane moiety.
